Looking to do my first century of the year and stay on track for the 2008 Century-a-month club by riding out to Reading and back. I've been over a bunch this ground before at least in the 20-30 radius of Phoenixville due to various rides of my own and organized events. But the area closer to Reading itself northwest of Birdsboro and the whole area west of Pottstown is completely new to me. I mapped out a ride based on a combination on potential scenery, low traffic, long stretches (less navigation required) and just mindless clicking. Anyone bike out that area got any must sees or roads I've chosen that have some fatal flaw. Hills are not immediately a major issue, but I would prefer to keep them within the bounds of sanity considering its my first centrury this year.

Your Collegeville to Gilbertsville leg should be fine. Depending when you ride it, Ridge Pk could have some traffic. Rt 29 along the Perk creek is a nice road, scenic, well paved but the left onto 73 can be troublesome.

thx for the reply, I'm thinking I may make some minor changes to trim the excess >100 miles off the total trip. I think It will be enough of an effort as it is since I've had little long distance riding this year. I plan to take it slow and hope I can complete the ride within daylights hours, but I do have lights just in case
