Love em. Need em. Wouldn't trade em.
But, ahem, is anybody else out there having to huff and puff to get the cables to separate for recharging?
I'm Glad they won't detatch when I'm not looking, but yikes!
Any thoughts on a very minor bit of lubrication at the joints or might this likely punk out the connection?

Uh, no. Not for the AA versions. Which Dinottes do you have?

I've got the 200L dual with their battery.

I just twist back and forth a bit and pop (with the winebottle sound)....

I unhook it like every other snap-on 9-volt battery connector I've seen for the last 36 years... ;)

OH, you've got the dual setup with the li-ion battery pack... never mind.. :o
Yeah...the good news is they're waterproof. But, they do take a bit of work to get apart. I find it's easiest to grab the wires about 2 inches away from each connector and then just pull hard.

Yes x 3. I've got a 600L-LI on my handlebars, 200L-LI on my helmet, and 140R-LI on my rear rack, so I've got three of those connections to try and pop loose. It's worse when I get home from a rainy commute and everything is wet -- then I use a towel to get a better grip and twist and pull until they disconnect.

I avoid that method because I'm afraid the wires will eventually break loose from the back of the connectors. You can be our guinea pig to see how well they hold up after using that method a few dozen times. :)

I did lubricate the connectors with a little petroleum jelly and it helped significantly. There may be fancier greases out there but old fashioned vaseline helped a lot.

I am also concerned about wearing out the connection between the cable and connector, which is why I posed the question. And I've got 3 things to pop. Duals. Rear. And amber. I'll try a q-tip with a bit of light lube and will report back. Think I'll start with amber........

Problem resolved.
I used a q-tip to apply a small amount of aquaphor (vaseline-like cream made of mineral oil cersin and lanolin alcohol) and it totally resolved this issue. I used a very small amount. I'm sure this did not damage the integrity of the seal since the aquaphor is waterproof and the joint still snaps in place tightly. Removal, however, is about 40 times easier.
