Road Bike Racing - ESPN Slipstream Article

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I just came across this long article about Slipstream on ESPN.com. Nothing astonishingly new, but it's worth a read.

Good article! I'll be rooting for these guys, even though I think Vaughters is a d*ck.

You can tell that Danielson and Zabriskie have a lot of animosity towards Discovery.
"Now all Vaughters has to do is prove his theory as cycling limps into the 2008 season with a reputation as one of the dirtiest games in the world."
Good coverage for cycling, however ESPN doesn't even mention that relative to other "games", cycling is not dirtier.
Once I'd like to see ESPN or some other media source call out the other sports for what they are when talking about how dirty cycling is.

"One rider fulfilling his contractual obligation to a former team looks particularly uncomfortable, "but I don't want to give those dirtbags any reason to go after me," he says."
Who do you think said this? Millar?

1. It does have a REPUTATION as one of the dirtiest sports. 2. Why should they, that's not news(preaching to the choir) . 3. They do look at baseball right now. Baseball has had more coverage on this topic in the last three years on ESPN than cyclings had since it's induction.
My point is Slipstream is doing a great job by not looking the other way or pointing the finger.

yeah this recent baseball scandal comes to mind, how about the football stars that are perpetually getting arrested, crashing their expensive cars, or hey dog fighting anyone? now no doubt cycling is a dirty sport, dirtiest? I'd dispute that but it is true it;s a dirty sport. and the thing is there's doping in EVERY physically strenuous sport, no exceptions.
