Without giving you my arguments* beforehand, which movie will gross more in it's first weekend: The new Batman or the new Indiana Jones?
I've made a huge bet that the Indiana Jones movie will destroy (just beat is fine) the new Batman based on their Friday to Sunday first weekend receipts. Am I on crack or all you with me and Dr. Jones?
*just to clarify, thanks Modo.

Indiana would just shoot Batman like he did that swordsman....everyone knows that.
How about Batman and Indy? Robin was a bit to effiminate for my tastes.
Not something I've been able to say about many movies lately, but I'm pretty interested in both. I think another Indiana Jones movie is totally pull-off-able, and the previous Batman movie was much better than the two crapfests that preceded it.
Of course, I know next to nothing about either one (and, to be honest, only recently found out they were coming out), so I guess either one could go either way.
How about Batman and Indy? Robin was a bit to effiminate for my tastes.Yeah, but Robin makes for a good character to kill off for dramatic effect, and to make way for other Robins (one of which was female, if I recall).

Indy will win box office for sure....that movie will draw out the older crowd who might not normally freuqent movies as much.
Ace and Gary need to make a feature length movie.

Batman has that draw, plus the young/hip/goth draw. Look at the numbers in my first post.

I don't think Batman will have that draw as they seem to keep doing "different" movies about him.
I'm still going with Indy.

Indy because of the already mentioned older crowd and the fact that they come out with Batman movies way too often. Nothing excites me about another Batman movie.

Nothing excites me about another Batman movie.I used to feel that way until they went a whole new direction with Christian Bale as Batman. I loved the last movie...best Batman movie yet.
I say they go with Jack Black for the next Batman.

Who's gonna be Robin? Rosie O'Donnell?
i just threw up in my mouth
And to answer you question, the obvious choice would be Kyle Gass.

I'm thinking she could play the Penguin. Robin should be played by "The Rock".

Too similar to what's already been done. You got to think outside the box there.

None of them will beat batman begins...well..maybe fiscally
Justice league, seriously...god I hope the movie isn't as gay as the tv show. I always disliked DC comics...and justice league epitomized that.

If the Indiana Jones movie is good I think it’ll win due to the greater elapsed time since the last one. That and I just think the Indiana Jones movies (1 and 3 anyway) are far better than any of the Batman movies, so there’s a lot more potential there.

What I should have written is without giving you my arguments...sorry.
Indy pros: Harrison Ford, opening Memorial day weekend, pent up demand for the series, Leboeuf for the young crowd, and the biggest one of all....the crowd that grew up with Indy. As for the dollars from the links above...none take into account inflation. All 3 Indy movies are in the top 100 all time grossers when this is taken into account. Only 1 Batman (1st one) made it into top 100.
Batman pros: younger crowd, hot current commodity, cartoons, kids love it. History shows it'll do some business.
Indiana Jones will gross more for sure.

Question is which wondertwins were your favorite?
The first set:
Marvin and Wendy

The only man to stand toe to toe with Chuck Norris was Indy, Batman had his cape stuffed deep into his nether regions by Chuck
Indy!
i think it depends on a lot of factors.
Indy is scheduled to open pretty early - May - but Iron Man, Speed Racer, and Prince Caspian are also May releases. so it's got some stiff competition.
yet while Dark Knight opens in July - summer movie season - but it may be fighting "comic movie burnout," coming after the aforementioned Iron Man as well as Incredible Hulk, Hancock and Hellboy II.
i bet both will set franchise records. Indy is a shoo-in for this, considering inflation since 1989.
They aren't playing until May and July?! Guh. I thought they were opening some time this month.
*goes back to not caring for a few more months*
Can't go wrong with Christian Bale. But my money's on Indiana Jones.

That and they picked some bad characters, imo, to try and bring on screen. I can't believe they tried the hulk again. I can think of more interesting characters to bring to the big screen. You forgot one too, ghost rider.
Wolverine when he was alone, even though they more or less butchered his history, they could try to go back and explain how, where and who found him before his exo-skeleton
The could try and do the punisher, right this time. In fact it would be one of the simplest paper to film translations, I am shocked they messed it up that bad.
There are others, I just forget them. There were so many better in the marvel universe that would translate over well.

I would've said Indy too until Heath Ledger passed yesterday. I think that might change things now...
