Mountain Biking - INSANE trail vid from 1st person

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Ok.
I'm not a mountain biker, I like road bikes personally.
But someone sent me this and I just had to share it with you...it blew my mind.
I did a google search on this domain and no hits came up....so hopefully this is not a repost.
This link *might* contain ads or banners that *might* be NWS, but when I opened it up it was work safe for me.

Don't get me wrong. I'm in no way trying to discriminate against my fellow crankers out there. I just don't like the way major off road riding publications, bike manufacture's and advertisers have lumped everybody who has dirty tires into the "mountain biker" category. Stunt riders, or whatever they're known as, are not mountain bikers! It's as different a sport as road riding is to downhill racing! (And I don't wear lycra!)

A few years old. Remains my favorite some-random-guy MTB video.
I've always been a sucker for the casual ravine gaps.
Reminds me of a more hardcore version of what i did BMXing and stuff.
Would love to be able to afford the mountian bike to be able to do that stuff.
Would love to combine my BMX exp. with the adaptability (only word that came to mind, lol) of a mountian bike

I saw this today and immediately thought of this forum - I knew someone must have posted it before :)
does anyone know where these trails are?
Washington, and that's about as specific as you're gonna get without knowing people who know the trail.
These are not real mountain bikers, these are baggy short wearing, slammed seat fools!
Translation: One of the best freeriding videos out.

Jeez, sorry it was a repost...I guess searching for the link wasn't enough.
Anyway, glad someone enjoyed it...I had never seen it before and it really impressed me.
I'm pretty sure I would be ok until the high, narrow bridge....that would probably be the end of me.

Yeah, I wouldn't be one either if I attempted anything close to that.....

One of these statements has to be false.

No soup for YOU!...
actually it is one of th best "tube" vids I have seen. you are missing out. I wonder if some inspiration was pulled from air supply, the jumps look almost identical.

Don't worry...you know which one it is...last time it came up you were surmising the location.

Now now.
If the poster has a professional-level background in BMX, supercross, and the highwire/trapeze arts, they might make it that far.
Perhaps with some scary moments.

Awesome video, I hadn't seen it before, thanks for posting. I'd love to ride that trail (minus the huge jumps ;)).
Don't worry...you know which one it is...last time it came up you were surmising the location.OK - - Hey, thanks never. I remember that: Western Washington; not-so-secret secret location; go-big-or-go-home stuff.

But anyone with that background would not describe themselves this way:

Those guys would be really something if they were real mtnbikers.
Very nice trail.

Anyone who thinks they'd be okay 'til the skinnies - wouldn't.
Skinnies are more a mental than a physical challenge. Those big gaps, on the other hand...

Roadie background? He's dug himself a pretty deep hole.
I'll admit I'm having trouble inventing an alternate plausible scenario here.
And gap jumps mess with my head just like skinnies. They burrow into my temporal lobe and taunt me. They say I am way too old to be attempting them. They are correct.
yeah ive only gone downhilling a few times but its been a complete rush every time (and i've injured myself each time :) , it;s really good when you find a trail like that which people have put alot of love into. and i love those sorta videos..

Ok, just to clarify my earlier statement, which was taken much more literally than I intended it to be:
By " I'm pretty sure I would be ok until the high, narrow bridge....that would probably be the end of me."
What I meant was: "I think I would be *mentally* ok with trying that trail, until the high narrow bridge, when my brain would probably decide to purge the contents of my bladder in a decided effort to prevent me from killing myself."
