Gimbels has two groups - regular and long rides. Regular is about 35+ miles and long is 45+ miles. The ride starts out very easy pace and social until the split where the regular and long split up. After the split, the pace gets aggressive. The regular is treated as a race and gets very competitive and aggressive. Some people forget that it's a group ride. The long, a bit more like a group training ride, has more sustained hills. Still race pace but an awesome ride. Usually the cat123 will breakaway on the hills. The ride finishes in New Rochelle around 11am and the long finishes around 11:34am. During summer, the group swells to about 100+ riders. A great ride to get strong.

I joined BF about 3 years ago and finally decided this year to try a group ride with some NY BFers:

Lots of fun; good times and great beer!

There is a ride in Central Park one or two nights a week. It's basically a 20-30 MPH free for all.

Haha, except cabs won't be at a mere 20-30 MPH. :-)
