Does anyone know of any good areas to go night riding around OC?

Hmm, duly noted. Is it a route that is only accessible on a thursday night?

margarita mondays... meet at triangle square, back by loop, 50 cent margaritas at taco mesa.

taco tuesdays... orange circle to costa mesa for tacos and back.

wednesday night socials... triangle square to all around newport, up and down jamboree, end up at detroit bar in costa mesa for $1 beers.

No - it's accessable all the time, but there's a big group ride on Thursdays (I think it starts at 6:30 PM at the Fullerton courthouse - I haven't done it in a couple years - someone else will have to verify.). Although I do recommend riding the Loop for the first time with someone who knows the route. It's a patchwork of different connected routes and sidewalks, and impossible to figure out on your own. (without extensive internet research).

I'll second the Taco Tuesdays ride. It's a lot of work sometimes, but a fun bunch.

The Sunday night Skyline in Fullerton is fun as well. Routes vary and always include a few nice hills for good measure. Sunday nights usually have the emptiest roads around NOC.

None of the rides dddddddddave or I listed are for uptight people, just people who love to ride bicycles and ride fast sometimes.

We do a night ride with lights on Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays. We leave
Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park at the corner of Barranca Parkway and Harvard in Irvine and ride down to the back bay, do some loops and back to the park ending up with about 25 miles. We stay on the bike trail the whole way. If you're interested let me know. We average about 18 or 19 mph for the whole ride.
