I am having a hard time mounting tires on these things for my girlfriend's bike. Tires are Geax Easy Riders. I also searched the forums and got the feeling that Rhyno Lites are hard to mount on already and the Geax tires seem a little tighter than any tire I've ever done so I'm not holding my breath. They are so tight, I actually thought they might have been 29r rims and measured. Any good tips to cram 'em in there, though, before I take them to a LBS?
If they can't do it, would getting a folding bead tire (Kevlar, Aramid, etc.) make it easier? I have some Specialized tires with Aramid beads that I didn't even have to use a tire lever for, just two thumbs. Would all folding bead tires be that much easier than a wire bead or are the Specialized ones just different?
Assuming that the I can't do it with your tips, the LBS can't do it (probably not likely) and a folding bead would be better, any suggestions on cheaper (<$25) folding bead 26" X 1.95-2.2" tires non F/R specific more along the lines of XC Race/Slick/Low Knob, etc. with a harder rubber compound. She will probably use it for commuting and the hard packed stuff all around here.
