...Has anyone tried these yet? I just took my worn out 4000's off and thrown a pair of the "S" series on, I'll take them for a spin later, just wondering if anyone else has been riding them and what their impressions were...

I put the 4000S on both my wheelsets. I think they roll better and hug corners slightly better than the regular 4000 tires. Good price at PBK, too.

Gatorskins are the only way to go...
I didn't find much difference between the 4000 and 4000s... Both great tires. I would buy whichever is the best price when it comes times to restock. The 4000 is now available with the black chili compound that is used on the S.

My opinion is that I'm too poor to afford them so I stick with the cheapies. If they roll, they're good for me!:D

I love my GP 4000 ... rides smooth as silk.

Honestly, I've never been able to tell the difference between any tires (same size and basic tread). I have no complaints whatsoever about my 4000s... they've been extremely flat resistant so far (~2000 miles), and I love the way they look (all black, understated logo).
Definitely interested in seeing how they are since I just ordered a pair of chili-compound 4000's for myself from PBK when I was ordering 650c 4000's for my friend from PBK. I've pretty much been a Vittoria person until now...

I ordered the same a couple days ago, I dig the regular 4000's so I figure these should be similar.
Mounted 4000s on two wheel sets in early 2007. Recently replaced one set at about 2900 miles with the black chilli compound. Only experienced 3, maybe 4, flats in the 2900 miles with the regular 4000 tire which remained pretty flat resistent until a side wall became abraded and had to boot it to get home one day. My only complaint with this tire is that the fabric aroud the bead tends to unravel, sometimes winding up with threads in the jocky pullys in the RD.
