Foo - Why can I read but not post in P&R

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Did they start the change tonight?
Can you view the forum at all? If so, read the top sticky for info.

But the simple answer - yes, all is supposed to resume by 6:00 AM, Donna's time.

They changed it so it's by permission only.

Considering that thread is in P&R, if they can't access the forum, they probably can't read it. The short of it is, contact either Brian or Donnamb for access. They'll explain any additional needed details.

We can neither read nor post.

If you don't have access and want it, PM Brian or me. We think Brian has fixed it so that unless you are given specific access, you can see P&R but cannot make posts. That was not the case until this evening.
I haven't been to P&R for the last year or more, IIRC. It's like the Western Front trenches of WWI in there. Both sides fight, attack, counterattack and neither side gets anywhere. A waste of time and energy.

It's a tad better than last year.

Except for all the times when it's fun, funny, witty, informative, intellectually stimulating, clever, touching, etc.
I guess if one sees it as a team competition one might be frustrated by the fact that a winner is never declared.

I used to think the same, but there are some very intelligent, insightful people in there. Whether or not I agree with them is another story, but at least they can make a sound argument.

Did you read the sticky thread in P&R? You had to "sign up" for it. But if you PM a mod, they will let you in.

There's a lot of people who missed that :p .
It's a good way to keep out hit and run trolls, and seems to be encouraging civilised, yet spirited exchanges.
I'm sure that Brian or Donna would be happy to get you in :) .
