Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but as I work for "big brother," I got Monday off. Anyone up for a ride? I was thinking about heading out to White's Ferry along the south side of the Potomac and back in to DC on the C&O canal side. ~ 4 hrs of riding steady miles. We could meet somewhere in Arlington, I s'pose. Let me know.

Will you walk into my parlour?" said the Spider to the Fly,
'Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I've a many curious things to shew when you are there."
Oh no, no," said the little Fly, "to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair can ne'er come down again."

Nomad, I think most people are scared to ride with you. Scared that you'll be let down then post some story here about how your MLK day ride was a "waste of a training day".

Just sayin'. Nothing against you, but with your skill I'm sure we'd appreciate some more information on exactly what your objectives are on the ride. Let's be honest: whenever you throw together a random group on BF, it's most likely that your ride will end up being a social one and not a training one, per say.

Any chance you want to come up to Jersey? There's a host of guys that would be more than happy to be run into the ground by you!

I thought I would beat the "too hard" or "too fast" by making sure I said "base training" ride. My goal wattage would be avg ~245. Calorie burn ride for me more than anything else. After yesterday's SST and today's 10 o'clock ride, I'm glad I can even walk right now.

DWJ - I'd love to come up there to Jersey and ride, but my wife would probably frown on me taking the car for the day up there :P Never fear, racing season is coming at full speed. God, I gotta shed some of this weight and start the intensity soon.

I just realized that if you're still a CatIV, we'll be racing against each other (at least for the first part of) this year.

245w avg is too high for me on an easy day for sure

Yep... just cat 4. After today's slaughtering of my legs, we'll see if I can do any better. Anywho.. Might get the wife to drop me off out a way and get some mountain riding done to the west of James Madison highway instead. That way I can skip the 60 km round trip of roads I'm familiar with. Need to get me a cheapo pick-up truck soon to help get me out of the city roads.
