I've been thinking of buying from them via web BUT;
Tried contacting them via email a number of times and it just bounces back (on 2 different mail accounts).
Phone just rings and rings and rings.
Does give me the greatest faith...if something is wrong with my purchase it could turn out to be a nightmare!
Anybody dealt with them via the web?

I've used Wiggle successfully but I much prefer actually going into a decent bike shop (NOT evans) - I may buy more than I need but at least I can check the item for form, fit and function before I part with the hard earned clams.
Try "another cycling forum", ctc forum, cyclechat or bikeradar for reviews of jejames - they're not all as friendly, populous and comprehensive as this forum but they are UK specific.
Both web and in store...
Just bought my new bike from J E James, the staff are really knowledgeable and helpful, I had a problem with a light I got from them, I returned it and got a new one back within 4 working days!
Nearly always get through on one of these numbers
01709 538374 - Mail Order Hotline
01709 538378 - Road Bike Dept
01709 538375 - Workshop Cycles
Although when I actually went in person I saw how busy they were!!
ok-might try them again via phone
apparently they're in the process of changing email servers-hence it being crap, they assured the website was under a different server.
