Actually, it is a participation star. New folks, like yourself, or folk who post utter nonsense generally have no stars. Those with red stars have demonstrated themselves with useful, well thought out posts.

Those with blue stars used to have red stars and now are on the verge of losing their star because of posts with lots of nonsense.

MOD - good quality, still high quantity
admin - good quality but I never posted
Paying member - good quality - semi high post count

take that as you want, but I find the threads in general today more diluted than they use to be (in mtbiking specifically), I miss some of my adversaries that really took to fighting points and talking shop.

so to answer, My posts have likely become less useful and less thought out because they don't need to be...;)

I tried to go post in the MTB thread. It sucks. They just ask the same things over and over: "What do you carry, what kind of bike to get, to have or not to have clipless pedals, etc, etc, blah blah blah." Foo is way better. You could be talking about dogs, mice, poop, quail, hijacked threads, dying, cheating girlfriends, beating baby seals, Chipcom, beef jerky, who's hot and who's not, or whatever else you can think of. And now that I think about it, I want to talk about the effect global warming is having on the polar ice caps. Either that or the number 42. Take your pick.

whoa...I didn't mean it as an insult...ahahaha..I was commenting on my quality of posts having gone down. And thats more due to a lack of the discussions we used to have early on. Really technical discussions about suspension, braking systems etc. Actual science behind the machine. Thats lost in the mtb forum now.
