I'm having a rather strange problem... hopefully someone here will be able to help.
I recently purchased a slightly used road bike (from a local bike shop) with a Shimano 105 component set. The bike itself looks almost brand new and appears to have been very lightly used.
The first day, I took the bike out for a brief 30-minute ride to get a feel for it. Aside from some minor adjustments, everything seemed perfect. Later that day, a friend adjusted the derailleurs... all pretty basic stuff. At this point, the bike was working perfectly; I took it off the stand and put it away.
That night, I wanted to check the derailleurs to make sure the shifting felt right; the shifting was fine, but I was no longer able to pedal. The gears spin freely, and the freehub won't engage no matter what I try. Let me reiterate that it was working perfectly when I put it away. I would normally think the hub was toasted, but that doesn't just happen from sitting in my apartment. The only thing that happened between it working and not working were some minor detaulleur adjustments.
Any help would be much appreciated... I have three days off work coming up tomorrow, and I've been really looking forward to some riding time, not some repair time...
