Hey, I am planning a bike tour of southern Italy, Sicily and Sardinia in March 2008. Can anyone tell me a reasonable hotel or B & B in Rome where I can stay, store my bike case and start my tour??
Thanks, Dave

It's been my experience that there's no such thing as cheap in Rome. That said, I stayed here ( http://www.bb-averoma.romaviva.com/home.htm ) last year when I was in Rome. It was reasonable, considering it's Rome, friendly, clean and quite centrally located. You would be very hard pressed to find something less that $100USD per night unless you were willing to stay outside of the main part of Rome. In the city, it seems that things start around $150USD or so. With the Euro at around $1.45USD, Europe is more expensive than ever.

If you're willing to go 'downscale' and be a little more adventurous, here's a place to start: http://www.romaviva.com/1star-hotels-rome.htm
