'72 Dolphins. Then Cowboys. Giants are way up there on that list too - having Coughlin leapfrogs them over a couple other teams.

I root for the Giants. That's much harder and pays less. And it's the JERSEY Giants, regardless of what anyone outside the NY area may think. I may live in this stupid state now, but I'm a Jersey boy. The Jets may play in the same stadium, but they're the NEW YORK Jets, because they moved there from Queens.

It's complicated.

This will be the first year in a long time I will not be watching the game. I wont be able to stomach the media on their knees in the attempt to have a love fest with the Pat's and Tom Brady. I hope the Giants win just to make the 18-0 meaningless.

Last year, I hated the Pats. Next year, I will go back to hating the Pats. This year - destiny awaits the erasing of the '72 Dolphins - who really weren't all that great a team.

I have no idea of how much snow is in Buffalo. Grew up in Rochester.

p.s. - Coughlin is the Bobby Knight of Pro football. Only Parcells and his girlie-man arms offends me more.

You must understand that the way the Giants played this year, first I was amazed they made the playoffs, then I was astonished they progressed past the first round, then I was dumbdounded when they made it to the NFC title game by beating the CBoys in Dallas, and now I'm stunned they're going to the Super Bowl after beating Farve and the Packers in Ice Bowl II.

It's all total gravy now boys. By any measure, the Giants season is a screaming success, even if they lose in Arizona 57-0. But they won't. It will be a good game, and the Giants may surprise the world. They've been doing that so far. Why stop now?

Zero pressure on Eli and the Giants. They have no business being there. All the pressure is on the Pats. Oddly enough, the Giants do appear to be Destiny's Team, and you can put that into the God Watches Out for Small Children and Drunks dept. That can hard to beat. As Farve and Romo will tell you. Good grief, after Tyne blew two easy field goals and the Giants intercepted Farve to set him up and then he hits a Hail Mary 47 yarder to win? That's like an Act of God.

The fact that Eli is starting to play up to his potential (he has looked very all-Pro lately if you hadn't noticed) and he has some great receivers helps. Giants D has Hardened the F Up, the Giant O-line is winning the war in the trenches which establishes the run game and gives Eli time to pass, and special teams has been great. Eli hasn't thrown an interception in some time. They are actually playing like a different team than the one I was watching 8 weeks ago. Kudos to Coughlin's coaches on Offense and Defense, and to the Giants' relative discipline/lack of penalties (a couple of killer penalties on NY near the end of the game today, but more on the Pack overall).

Almost all media outlets wanted it to be NE vs GreenBay or Dallas.

Undefeated QB dating an actress VS "America's Team" QB who's dating an Singer/Actress or VS the storied career of a 38 year old come back kid.

Now it's NE VS little bro with an inferiority complex

Very accurate and quite possible. The Pats offense (Brady/Moss) looked mediocre...the Giants have momentum and nothing to lose. And you know the Giants looked pretty good for awhile there a couple of weeks ago against the Pats.

Anyway, I bleed green and want revenge ... Go Giants!

Wow...tell us how you really feel, Nancy. You forgot to put "long-suffering" at the beginning of that line. Nobody was a loser longer than New England. Even when they were good (85 and 96), they were still losers. We just had the good fortune of Bob Kraft buying the team, and insisting on turning them around. I don't see the arrogance there.

You want arrogant, try Dallas. Better yet, try Don Shula.

Not a Giants or Packers fan, but dang that was a great game.

Depends on how you define great.

2 INTs, 2 Missed FGs, and 6 fumbles(1 lost) does not make for a great game.

The game was entertaining enough to keep me company as I finished up some work, but it was far from great. Typical for the NFL.

It is that way everywhere, If the fans do not root for your team then they are annoying. I grew up in NY and thought that Dallas Cowboy fans were the worst on the planet. THEN I moved to the Trenton NJ area and ran into the Godzilla of fan aresholes...the Philadelphia sports fan, and the Philadelphia Eagles fan in particular. I couldn't even root for the Eagles against the Pats 2 years ago and I HATE the Patriots!!

I’ll be pulling for the Giants although I just hope it’s a good game. Truthfully, I think this game has the look of a Broncos/49er’s type blowout. I don’t think NY’s secondary will match up with the speed of NE’s wideouts at all. Hope I’m wrong.
