Today I bought a men's townie 700C 3-speed. The guy at the bike shop assured me that my Rhode Gear CoPilot (http://www.amazon.com/CoPilot-Taxi-Bicycle-Child-Seat/dp/B000G22QHW/ref=pd_sbs_sg_title_1) kid's seat would fit on in just fine. Well, the geometry of the frame is such that the Blackburn EX-1 (http://www.amazon.com/Blackburn-1003202-EX-1-Bicycle-Rack/dp/B000BNS2U6) rack that the seat sits on obviously won't mount to the Townie. Electra sells a rack for the townie that looks similar to the Blackburn. Anyone know if the Copilot Taxi seat will attach to it? Anyone have a kiddie seat on their Townie? Thanks!

FWIW, the Copilot will NOT fit on the Electra rack.
I have been searching the forums and the web and it looks like the best option may be the iBert front-mounted seat and ebay for my CoPilot.
Still curious how others are carrying their kids on their Townies if anyone cares to share.

That rack will, but with modified mounting brackets. The supplied ones aren't long enough. I've installed a few by using longer forward mounting braces.

I wondered about that, but was concerned about cost and ability to safely support the weight of the seat and my daughter. I just ordered the Electra rear rack (will add panniers) and will probably get the iBert, that way I can haul the kid and groceries or ride to work.
