Foo - OK, it's time. which one of you did it?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
is someone going to take responsibility for this?

i've been trying to get it passed along to a special bf poster. so far, to no avail.
Did you just notice it Capitan Obvious? :)
you've had that for a little bit now.
I think it was Ted Geisel.

what part of "OK, it's time" lead you to believe that I just noticed it?

What the bald spot?
I have given a surprise star to a member, but I will carry that members identity to my grave with me. And no, I did not give Botto his star.

you thought your secret admirer would admit they bought it for you? I bet it was pcad as he has a disturbing crush on you.

In honor of Texas, it is a lone star bald spot

Those normally only occur in back hair and on women here in Texas.

Note to whoever bought it:
One of the last times I bought a star for someone, I prefererred to remain anonymous, so then on the inevitable thread, some other Foo asshat took credit for it. You must decide whether the gratification of an anonymous good deed outweighs the mortification of someone else potentially taking credit for it. Just sayin'.

Although Brian and I took a vow to never tell, what I will say is that no one who has posted on this thread thus far is responsible.

I thought about buying him a star one time when I was drunk, if it means anything.

A previous recipient of an anonymous (at least at first) red star donation.

It's hard to explain the phenomenon that was MERTON, as all traces of him have been wiped from the board.
Think Ryanf, but with bizarre real world issues that were 500% more entertaining. MERTON, though, is missed by almost all that ever read one of his crazed threads.

Thanks for the PM Donna. I'm sorry to hear that Brian got so drunk that he bought botto a red star. That explains why he has left the forums for awhile. It sounds like it was a much needed respite.

i never found the former to be entertaining, so does taht mean that merton was 500% more entertaining than absolute boredom?
We pooled our resources. Everyone donated as much as they saw fit.
2,500 donators later, a star was born.

Yeah, I forgot about that whole multiplying by zero always equals zero bit.
MERTON was entertaining. Let's just say it that way.

Ya know, its really not that important as to who did this. What I find more important is why? Oh Dear God, why?

I do. Well, I put it on the "For Trade" thread. It'll cost you a bottle cage bolt if you have one laying around. Stripped will do just fine.

Are we talking both halves here? And how did it break, horizontally or vertically. I need the left half of the top bottle cage bolt for a 1990 Trek 8000. How do feel about the name Bush?

Are you saying you want X to strip nude before sending you a cage bolt? What for? For the life of me, I can't figure out what would be in that for you.

No, but that would work too. Of course I would owe him more than my identity.

At the very least it will be good for a laugh and one of their self images. not sure which.
