Training & Nutrition - Myoplex supplement, good for training?

So I am starting my winter training this week. I am a collegiate rider and have my first race of the season on March 1 and want to do well(3 stages, ITT, crit, road race) and want at least one podium finish. Seeing as how i am interning this spring semester and working 8 hours a day plus a night class, i have been thinking about taking myoplex original to aid my training. I have never taken any kind of supplement before, for the most part i used to eat 3 square meals a day and take multi vitamins. NOw that i work and dont eat as well, i want to know if myoplex is good as a meal replacement as well as training. I am a climber, and can time trial well. If anyone has taken myoplex before let me know how well it works and what kind you took.

Well... Not sure how much it will help, but I don't think it will make a difference between podium or not if you don't put in the miles. Have you been ridding at all during winter? With a month or so to go, I hope you are not just starting base phase.

Myoplex has 270 calories in each serving, 3 grams of fat, 42 grams of protein, and 23 grams of carbohydrate. Without knowing more it is hard to reply. Racing tends to burn a lot of calories. Are you thin or need to lose a few pounds.
Food is always best. But, if you’re not eating correctly, this will have to do. You may need more for hard training, if your want to gain size strength and recover quicker. Maybe try to take two of the shakes and two meals.
You could also try to increase the carbs and calories if you seem to be losing too much weight. You might try Dorian Yates Pro Peptide MBF: 550 calories, Protein: 42g, Carbohydrates: 84g (but low in simple sugars including Lactose), Fat: 5g. When I was losing too much weight, this helped.
If money is an issue, try MyoPlex for one meal and Chocolate milk as your after ride drink.
A little more info might help.

I have not ridden in about two weeks due a crash and broken fork. I am hitting the trainer and once it warms up a bit(its 15 degrees in NJ right now) i will start extensive hill work. But I did base miles throughout December and through in some hard 50 milers with some Cat 1 riders. I haven't gained more than 5 pounds in the past two weeks and still feel good. My new bike should be coming in this week so i will be able to ride right away.
