get in line :p

You're loved more than you think - see the Merider1 Goes Down thread, for a start. Note references to family.

Oh, but let me just say...in certain southern states, that's considered marrying late.

You know, when I wrote that I knew you'd be the one to answer it, in exactly the way you did.
You're getting a little too predictable.

My turn to whine:

Why, oh why can't there be more 700c bikes out there I could standover without getting a wedgie!?

::: Wandering around aimlessly, hugging a pair of homeless Reynolds.... :::

Don't stand over it, get on it and ride it.
I'm sorry, I forgot. Resume whining.

God, that is truly dreadful, Joel. Wow. Seventh Heaven in German? Makes my whole whining over a hurt shoulder seem downright childish.
I KNOW! I mean, Jessica Biel is hot and all, but in German?

Ahhh...you're sure wearing on me. I may even have to hug you when I meet you. Just make sure you are careful around my cane.

You know, sonny, we olllllllllldddddddddd women have canes. :D

Now that's just mean. I'm injured, remember? It's a lot to ask that I come up with new material at present.:p

Oh, please. Just ignore Grumpy, the hater. I only got tons of responses because I'm a girl. Girls don't get fair shakes in the world until we're injured and helpless. So, consider yourself lucky!

Incorrect.

Not true. Have you seen the man? He is very pretty in general. Helpless will likely give him more of a "come hither" look about him.

oh hush. if that were true, then i'd get the occassional one who does actually come hither. nope. not me. it's probably because i seem so helpless.

yes and no...i have a torn labrum (cartilage in shoulder) and a tear in my rotator cuff on my left shoulder that i am waiting till the season ends to fix, it hurts like a tooth ache sometimes, even more so when climing out of the saddle.

and why would you just sit there and let someone drill into your shoulder with an ice pick...i say you deserve the pain if your just gonna sit there and take it.;)

I tried getting on the trainer again, but the pain did me in after 15 minutes. I'm thinking I may try it with my arm in a sling, but I'm worried about how that would effect my balance.

do you have rollers or resistance trainers?....i rode for 2 months this spring with my arm in a sling on the Fluid 2 after my shoulder got reconstructed. shifting was hard but more than anything it was good for putting on a base.

not true. you've got plenty of time to improve and go far. will you win the tour? maybe not, but if you really enjoy the sport and keep challenging yourself, then you've got lots of time.

I'm using the Fluid 2. I think I should probably do more base mile type riding, I've been doing a Sprint/Power Builder workout.

 Why? I'm going to get a great workout in (well, okay, I'm not 100% so I doubt I can really pound it out, but I will work up a sweat). It's better than nothing, John. See, while you are getting no workout and whining about it, I'm going to get a workout in.

I have other things to whine about. :p

I'm not going to ride a recumbent at the gym. I'll get more of a workout on the trainer over time them I'll ever get on one at the gym. Besides, I'm not looking for an arbitrary workout, if I was I'd go do weights.

Besides, this is the whining thread for everyone who wants to whine, right?

Better than being someone who trained real hard all his/her life with high ambitions and still never did anything great.

I'm just going to whine about the rain. It makes rides less enjoyable, and it makes my students very high strung.

Oh, now, gimpy, look who is in denial. You and I both know (really, we both DO know) that you cannot lift weights right now, John. A recumbant is a good source of cardio. You could also walk/lightly jog on a treadmill (although, all out running may be too jarring). A recumbant is better than nothing and not just some arbitrary workout. Sweating is good for you no matter how you do it.

Yes, you can whine all you want in here. :)

Um...yo you Dizzle back - let me break this to you gently. Other than repeated squats (which I plan to start doing in a few days), there isn't crap you can do for your legs that isn't going to put pressure on your back and shoulders. The recumbant is the way to go.

There's quite a few leg exercises that can be done without doing squats. Again, I'm not looking for an arbitrary workout, what I'm doing has a specific purpose, and I'd rather do the treadmill or practically anything else than the recumbent at the gym.
