Grr...the antibiotics do not seem to be making a dent in the sinus infection, and now i have a deep raspy cough to go along with the continuously stopped up head....
And this is going to be hell week at work, with an offsite group coming in and doing an assessment...
What antibiotics did they give you?
on my last day of zinthromax (aka z-pak)

IMO, it's not going to work. I went through the same thing with a recent sinus infection. Zithromax knocked it down a bit but didn't get rid of it. Went back in a saw a second doctor who said, "Why did they give you that? Short course antibiotics are no good for sinus infections". He gave me a 2 week course of Cipro which seems to have worked.
It has been generally good a knocking them out in the past. But this must be a particularly nasty bug. Problem is I have NO idea how I am going to get to see the doctor before Friday. Of course if I am coughing and hacking around everyone, they probably won't mind if I head out for a bit...

yes, but in tiny increments. I honestly thought it would be mostly healed in a week! :(

I know! I just accompanied teh bf to his primary care doctor yesterday because his sinus infection/bronchitis didn't get better after he took a short course antibiotic given by a rather harassed urgent care doc. The pcp said, "tsk, THIS is what they should've given you" and sent him out with cipro and a promethazine-codeine cough syrup. Now teh bf is useless in bed because the cough syrup knocks him out.

Yeah, I'm supposed to go later to an anti-superbowl thing. I may not go. I may just use this rain as an excuse to completely revamp my place. It's a pigsty at present.

I don't care much about the SB either but my wife, although she knows absolutely nothing about football, purchased a square from a friend's company's SB pool. She's so excited about the potential of winning some bucks that she decided to throw a SB party at home with a few friends and relatives.
I'll be there.

I was using one for the entire week before it turned into an infection. It was helping, but then reached the point where the saline would get trapped up my sinus passages, causing lots of uncomfortable pressure.

Did any of these fine physicians actually test to see if the bronchitis was caused by bacteria? They are more often viral and antibiotics do no good. Even if bacterial, could the bf recover on his own?
In any case, I hope he recovers soon.

Yeah, the good doc sampled his sputum and it was bacterial. He had it for just under two weeks before going to the doc, so I think he did need to have antibiotics. Oh well, now I have whatever he has and we're both sick. I'm not going to get meds though, since I seem to be recovering faster than he did, and alka-seltzer helps.

Are you whining or boasting? Sounds like you're boasting about the adventure you'll be having. Life is short, take every opportunity to savour the unique and distinct experiences you're having and thrive!!

Ok, I can't sleep because a) I'm writing a research paper, and b) the rain is frigging bothering me. I just noticed that the sound it makes while dripping outside my window sounds awfully like someone pooping.
Hopefully it won't be raining as hard when I leave for my commute in uhm...2.5hrs.

Rain sucks. My poor drivetrain needs a cleaning because of all the crap my front wheel kicked into it while commuting to school yesterday morning.
I need some fenders. :(
Also i need to buy
20x 3/16"
40x 1/4"
50x 5/32"
bearings and don't know where to find them cheap.
also it's nearly 5am and i'm still up.

No, it's too late, I've got to figure it out. Here's what it did. Apparently, it does shadow copies of programs/data, and for no effing apparent reason it decided to revert one when I re-booted.

It's pouring here in Sherman Oaks. Pouring! Has been all night, and I slept horribly. I do NOT sleep well with rain pounding on the roof of our 1953 apartment building. The french doors are cute and all, but the roof could use an overhaul.
