Background:
10 months of be involved in cycling.
I just moved from into Weirton, WV from Indianapolis.
Came from competitive running background.

This Winter:
I've had an average of 10 hours a week, including the trainer and spin classes (2xWeek)

I am looking for a team in the area to move on to the next level and was wondering if anyone had any information that could point me in a direction. I've tried google and came up with Western Penn Wheelmen and Allegheny Cycling Association. Being that this is the first time I am trying to join a team, I don't know what steps I need to take and if these teams would be worth pursuing. Any Advice, pointers?

Thanks,
T

The above link has some info, if you are looking for a race oriented club.

Or is it more of a social, learn to ride along with a group type club you're looking for?

The Allegheny Cycling Asociation holds weekly criterium races on an oval track in Pittsburgh once the weather starts to get a little warmer. As far as I know, you don't have to belong to a team to join in on the fun. Could be a good way to meet, learn, and show some of the teams that you are interested in being involved.
