at full intersection after fixing both front and rear flats. snow salt sludge day, 15 f, wind. did not feel sexy.

I know how that goes. As long as no one points and laughs at you its ok.

I'm really good at falling from a track stand and getting caught in my chain at the same time.

It adds a bit of humor when you are clipped in and the bike bounces up with your legs still attached.

I don't know how everyone always has these falls. I can't always keep a trackstand, especially in the wind but I just put my foot down. I usually have clips on so maybe I'd lose it more with clipless.

No--but you're right--the whole reason I clawed on too long was ego. the plow had just busted through and I had nowhere but smack in the middle of the lane and I just didn't have it in me to make that line re-pass or go fast enough so they wouldn't have to so I assuaged my dorkitude for waiting at the light by clingingggg

same here. First clipless fall and I totally deserved it. I was waiting outside a friends apartment for him to come down. I was on the sidewalk and decided to trackstand the time away. A girl walked by me on my right and I apologized for being in the way but right as I started talking a guy passed on my left and startled me. I fell over and couldnt get my foot out of the pedal without standing up, which is hard when your foot is still clipped it and so you're pinned to the ground under the bike.

ugh. now I feel like I'm gun shy at lights to trackstand on clipless.

i started trackstanding in the wet at a set of lights that have streetcar tracks ... well needless to say i got my front wheel caught, and it got pulled out from under me. i only had one foot clipped in, so i dropped the bike and kinda went down in slow motion, luckily it was rush hour and there were like 4x10^23 people standing and watching me fall. so i got back up, hopped on my bike and stood there like an idiot for like 5 min waiting for the light to change........ and when i did i missed the clip in and almost sacked my self on the toptube


worst riding day in my life (well in the city, well no, but lets just say it was and leave it at that)

i kick my heels out sideways and land on my feet usually. a bit graceless, but better than faceplanting

I think its called the "Nagasawa Save" when you are able to get your feet up in the air, sacrificing your body for the good of your too-expensive MKS pedals and the paint of your too-expensive NJS frame
