Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Pumps!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I'm really tired of using a presta adapter with my already crappy schwinn pump. What are some recommendations for good affordable presta pumps? I've been looking at silca but I'm not sure I want to drop 80 bucks on a pump, especially when I've heard mixed reviews.

Something portable or something to keep at the house?
For portable, I like the topeak morph pumps, for floor pumps I'm still fond of the old silca super pista.

performance has a deal on 19$ for the hurricane essential floor pump. it has a valve that fits both heads. Ive only had it for a few weeks and it works great, but it being that cheap i fully expect it to crap out on me in the near future. despite that, it feels pretty sturdy and pumps pretty strongly.
for home use.
Every pump I've used that says it works with both types seems to leak air on presta valves.

the Air Tool Pro Floor Pump from specialized!
this little guy blows my mind! I didn't think $60 would be worth it but it is! being able to remove air accurately with the pump attached to my tube I can finally dial my PSI to the exact number I want and there is nothing I have found that allows me to stay more consistent than this guy!
i have the nashbar orange pump at home. automatic head is nice, and doesn't leak on a presta, but does need a little more engagement than average.
topeak road morph g
I also have a second wind, but I haven't used it yet.
the topeak joe blow i've heard nothing but good about.
although, steepandcheap has a serfas mini pump and a floor pump for 23 bucks RIGHT NOW.

Stay away from the Park Tool PFP-3, it's awful.
second the specialized pump.

What I have. Leaky and annoying. Generally gets the job done though. For about a year I used a crappy mini pump exclusively that was the biggest pain in the ass ever, so I'm not really complaining.
for floor pumps I'm still fond of the old silca super pista.
Got mine for $20 and absolutely love it. The Park Master (Professional?) pump is also very nice if you need presta and schraeder.

yeah, I'll echo that I only head good things about the JoeBlow pumps. for a mini, I really like my Blackburn AirStik. I've got a Specialized something-something (the yellow one?) back home that was decent. and a SKS Kompressor here that I like as far as floor-pumps. if you want something presta and high pressure specific try getting a Hirame pump head for what you've got. they are great.
second the specialized pump.

Get a silca head and slap it on whatever pump you buy and you will be set.

+1 on the Topeak Morph. Best portable pump ever. I admit, however, I never tried the Mount Morph.

My floor pump is a Topeak Joe Blow in yellow. The Sport model maybe? I got it for $5 used via craigslist, though I did nearly die biking to retrieve it from the seller, since I had to take a road I was unfamiliar with and it was dark and crazy 9-5ers were busy trying to get the hell out of the city.
Anyway, had it for a few years and it is great. Has a head for both valves and a pretty accurate PSI gauge.
I use a Specialized Mini Pump when riding around. It is good, but not great. I should upgrade sometime, but it has always allowed me to get enough air in my tires to get home after a flat. I'm in NC for a few weeks to get away from the New York cold and I've had two flats in the past two weeks. I've probably only had two flats in the past two years before this stretch. Well, at least it was 55 degrees out instead of 15.

second the specialized pump.
fourth.
I've had mine for 8 years and it still works like it did when new. The clamp is dual sided for presta and schraeder valves.

i've been using the same Serfas FP100 for about 5 years now. only floor pump i've owned, 0 complaints.

get something made out of metal.
metal tube, metal feet, metal everything - it'll last years longer than a plastic pump.
that said, i purchased a joe blow (pro? it's black and it's retail cost was kinda pricey). quality and build is pretty good. aluminum tubing but plastic feet and handle which can get kinda flexy. volume is okay but it gets really tough once you hit 120psi. beyond that you feel like you're going to break the handle off. in order to hit 150psi i have to basically balance my entire body on the handle and let my body weight do the work (160lbs).
edit: the silca pumps are great due to their repair-ability, for some this means a lot. i have customers who come in now and then with pumps that are 20 years old and are still looking for pumps. if you're that kind of person, then a silca would be great for you.
i also like what i saw from the park tool's pumps. then again, i like everything they make.

How often do you really pump them up that high? My ass kinda hurts thinking about riding around on 150psi.

I DON'T recommend Topeak JoeBlow Max II, Topeak JoeBlow Sport, and SKS RennKompressor (with metal Presta valve adapter) pumps! I've tried them all and found that they didn't work for my Presta short and long stemmed valves!
The Topeak pumps only pumped to certain pressure (well below tire pressure ratings). The SKS didn't pump air into the tires at all as far as I could tell!? Also, the SKS metal Presta valve adapter was near impossible to remove from the valve stems!!??
Specialized Air Tool Comp and Blackburn AirTower 2 pumps seem to work quite well on my Presta valves!
I love my Joeblow. My Serfas broke in a couple months.
