A co-worker said he heard something on the radio about a Pennsylvania bike race. I came up with this. Sounds like it's a done deal.

Yep, it's a pretty official deal now, and here's the official website. I'm checking into volunteering for the stages near, and in Pittsburgh.

I heard rumblings about this some time ago...glad to see it got off of the ground. I would love to volunteer for the stage in Philadelphia. I will have to see if I can get the day off from work though. The more racing in the Northeast the better IMHO.
How's it going Den?
Cheers,

Hi Brian,
Things on this end have been pretty good, my friend. Like you, I have not been on the bke seriously in some time though. I'm not a big fan of getting out there in the cold, but I did ride the annual New Years Day club ride. Oh well, spring is just around the corner! Once we change the clocks early in March, I might actually find time after work to ride.
I read in the other thread that you are in a walking cast for comfort, and still using the crutches to get around on. Plus the doc says you should be back in the saddle come springtime, and that's certainly good news. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya'.
A little more back on topic here. I filled out all the volunteering info for the Pittsburgh stages, so now it's just wait and see where / if they can put me to use. The circut race in Pitsburgh should be pretty exciting, so if I'm not needed to help out, I'll still be heading up there to spectate. I remember a younger Lance Armstrong ruling the Pittsburgh circut races when I volunteered back in the day. Maybe, a future Tour de France winner will be amongst the competitors in this race.

Does anyone know if this is going to be an annual event?
The web site only mentions 2008, and also that it is part of "Pittsburgh 250"
I would sure love to see it as an annual event with varied routes (like to NE PA). :)
I'll see about wandering down to Philly, but there are a few hills around here I would like to see them tackle!
