It was slightly damp and a little cool. I think it was 32 deg. when we started at about midnight. Dressed for the occasion and did great, just like last month. We start downtown on the Lamar Ped bridge and go somewhere from there. Rode to Mt. Bonnell and enjoyed the hazy view tonight.
We want more riders in the future! The weather kept most people at home tonight, but we still had 12 of the more hardcore people show. Last month with lower temps but less wet stuff we had a much bigger turn out. Both were a blast!
Bring your bike (the more variety the better) blinking things, water...some (most) people bring "harder" beverages too (enjoyed in moderation, of course). All ages, walks of life, sexes and species attend and are welcome.
This is a social event. This is not a training ride, race or protest. You are obviously free to shoot off ahead if you wish, but that isn't what this is about. No one will be left behind. We take lots of breaks and quick stops to socialize and let those in back catch-up. There are usually some decent hills (this is Austin) to keep it interesting, but no one is expected to make a record time on them by any means. You can even walk them if you want/need.
If this sounds like fun, (be prepared for sparse profanity...) see www.atxbs.com (http://www.atxbs.com) for more info on this and other local area rides.
