I have seen a few of these around my parts at some flea markets in the summer. Last year I looked at a red one that was quite a bit too big frame wise for me, but was in very, very nice shape (i.e. ride it away condition and clean). They were asking $425 for it. Others I've seen were in the $200-$350 range, but needed small things like new tires or chains, so they are out there. Wish I coudl be more helpful with were to look. Did you try the folks over in the vintage section yet?

I hang out in C&V too, and have posted in their WTB thread...

I saw one on Ebay last year, and even bid more than I bought the bike for new in 1979... and I lost.

Honestly, it isn't that special of a bike from a component or frame perspective, so I suspect a lot of people rode them back in the day and want replacements... or it was their dream bike, and they couldn't afford $180 back then. Or maybe they think about the more modern LeTours (when they moved to chromoly) and think the LeTour IV was chromoly too...

By weight spec, the LeTour III is a better bike. ;)

I just checked what mine is, and I have a 1979 Letour IV 23" all original, but it is red.
