Mountain Biking - BMX Seat / Seat Post???
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Is there any reason not to use a BMX seat / seat post on a mountain bike?
Sorry, I'm a noob :(

if it fits, i see no reason why not
Yea if it fits, no problem.
wish i still had my BMX seat it was SOOOOOO comfortable.
but some moron stole it
Sorry to hear that Cheeto. Thanks for the answers guys.
Just one more question, is 25.6mm and 25.4mm a negligible size? My frame says it takes a 25.6mm seat tube (which I'm having trouble finding), but I find lots of good ones in 25.4mm.

yes, there is a bit of a difference that can cause issues with certain frames.

it can rattle around, and over time crack the frame. thats the last thing you want to happen
yeah, a broken frame is an unhappy frame.
do they even make seat posts in 25.6mm? I'm having trouble finding one.
