So this next week will decide if I am moving to Portland, Maine, or am single again and never, ever, ever trying to make things work long distance again.

If I go, it will be pretty immediate.

So what do I need to do in SoCal before I go? Bike rides, touristy crap, everything- you name it.

Take a group of friends on a hike in Malibu - might I suggest Nicholis Flats (the pond and the cliff outlook), followed by a late lunch and cocktails at Gladstones. Yes, GS is over priced, but after one cocktail (very well made), you won't care. Watch the sunset with a good buzz after a day walking up to one of the prettiest outlooks on this coast. The view from the cliff will stay with you forever. Take lots of pics! :)

Sorry to hear about the turmoil, grasshopper. Based on your location, I'm going to guess you've done Baldy plenty of times? Have you done most of the Santa Monica canyon roads? Maybe a road trip up through Solvang wine country?

Oh, and be sure to go to the Getty, both the original and newer one. Spend at least a day at each! Also, get to the Comedy Club and Rainbow Room for the kick of it.

Just remember one thing. "It's your life." Deep Quote by Heith Masters 1999. Anytime you start to make a decision say those words too yourself five or six times and see if that decision still sounds good. Good luck.

Get laid in LA?

Oh man. You win.

I'm really glad to see that I've done/come up with most of these already, actually. Thanks, guys.

Page Museum/La Brea Tar pits. The museum is pretty small but they have a bunch of really cool stuff.

Surf and ski on the same day. Easily doable on a weekday :)

I went to school with Nancy Pink whose father (if I remember right) owned Pink's. She was absolutely gorgeous. Playing it forward, If I wasn't such a dork, I would probably be slinging dogs there right now.

Go to JTree for a couple of days. Take a drive up 1 and visit Big Sur. Hit the Sierras. Go hang out at Scoops. Say a prayer at Olvera Street. Visit a taco truck. Go have lunch on Rodeo somewhere.

Bike to Portland Maine!

It will give you plenty of time to consider if you are making the right decision or not, plus it might be the last real adventure of your life!:p

I just seems to me that punching out Mel Gibson would be more memorable than getting his autograph.

K - necklace made from Mel Gibson's teeth is now on the list.

I would think it would be far more fun for a young man like you to leave LA with a scarf made from Paris Hilton's lace panties, myself. But fine, go get you some of Mel's teeth.

The most important things are relationships with those in your life. No matter what you do or where you go, be with those who care about you. Bike riding is subordinate to all these.
