Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Fork question

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Does anyone know if the fork that comes on the new Schwinn Madison is 1" or 1 1/8", and if you can purchase just the fork anywhere? I like the fork even though the rest of the bike is sub par.

I have no idea about the size, but I doubt that they will sell the fork separately. Your best bet would probably be to place wanted ads in Craigslist to see if anybody upgraded their fork and wants to get rid of the stock one.

if they aren't the exact same fork, they at least use the same crown as the one spicer sells. i wouldn't be surprised if these are the same fork. spicer sells theirs as a 1 or a 1 1/8"

Just curious, what do you think makes the rest of the bike sub par? I would trade any of my bikes in for a 08 Madison in a heartbeat.
