i dont know how my season is going to turn out. I am going to focus more on preparing for cross so I will probably be doing lots of crits again. Im really excited to race umd and leonardtown again and the poolesville road race is another I cant wait to do but I am not sure I will be training well for that type of race. who knows

Season goals:

1) Get half of the points needed to upgrade to the 1s, at the very least. Content to learn this year.

2) FTP 5.0+, 20min 5.5.

3) Come through the last corner of any SuperWeek crit top 10, and see how the dice roll from there.

4) Help a teammate win the state weekend RR, crit or omnium.

5) Race Elite nats in Orange County, CA.

6) Move up to the 3s on the track and expert or semi-pro in MTB (don't have a license in either at the moment).

My race schedule is up in the air after March. I am scheduled to head to boot camp March 24, so I lose 8 weeks there. After that I am heading to Charleston, SC where I have been promised a new bike by my wife, and hopefully I will be able to find time to train and race when I get there while spending the 18 months of school for the nuke program.

So as of now, I only have the Tradezone series on my calendar.

oh, and i'd like to try some TT's out - slap some clip on aerobars, flip around a setback seatpost and there ya' go! instant ghettoized road into TT bike.

I have one major goal...... FTP from 3.4 to 4.0+ by August. Since its only my second year back riding and im losing weight around 2lbs a week while keeping current wattage I should meet this goal.

If I had to set a goal I think it would be to podium in a race this year.

Have the schedule at home.

Major goals:
1) Have team run rampant through cat 4's.
2) About 58 minute 40K TT. Don't have the time set yet, as I'm trying to figure out what a good goal time is. Last year I sucked ass.
3) Destroy prologue in local stage race. Rolling 2.7 miles. Did very poorly (6:13) last year with an average of ~300 watts. Looking for closer to 5:13 this year with ~380 watts and 25 lb lower mass.

I did it to myself....... 10 year layoff from cycling to persue my dream of being a professional couch potato.... I reached all my goals in that area and ready to return to cycling.

i did the same thing, but there was no way in hell i was going to go back to the 4s.

This is as far as I have gotten so far. None are set in stone since I am in the process of purchasing a house so plans could change at any moment. On top of that it depends on if I get tired of spending $80 - $100 for gas a weekend to race. I'm sure I will be stuck working a few weekends as well.

Me? I get told where to race for the most part. My primary season goal is top 10 at the U23 XC race at Nationals.

Here are my races for the first half of the season. Its basically a hybrid of collegiate and USCF racing. The schedule will change depending on when I complete my goals. As soon as I get my 3 I'll back off and carry a lighter schedule leading into Conference and Gila.

It didn't take too long to move up to Cat 3 and this was actually my first time racing the 4s. I managed to get by without any crashes.

In my prior career I was a Junior and raced sometimes with the Cat 2s. The local rep pretty much gave Cat 2 status to any Juniors that placed well regularly.

Since this is my first season racing crits my goals are to stay upright and finish top 10. Anything else is gravy. :D

Since my team is Cat-4 heavy (we have about a dozen), my schedule will be influenced somewhat by the team's desires.

My goals:

- create a mighty gasping of breath, nashing of teeth, and cries of woe in my wake as I awaken my Ninja Warrior bike skilz (just kidding)

Real goals:

- assist the team's attempt to place (I B DOMESTIC)

I live in the great white north so I won't be ramping it up until the end of April!

We have 7 Sask Cups this year, of which I will attend 6. As well I'd like to maybe make it over to Alberta with some clubmates for certain races, and I'll be hitting up some races down in Montana with Cypress this summer :D. Looking at a total of probably 10-12 races between April and September, then transitioning into cross.

Goals this year are just to continue improving off of a good Cat 5 season, keep training with power, shooting for...

5 sec = 16.33 w/kg -> 18 w/kg
1 min = 7.47 w/kg -> 9 w/kg
5 min = 4.42 w/kg -> 5.5 w/kg
FTP = 4 w/kg -> 4.75 w/kg

-Turkey Hill Road Race up in Manor Twp PA, great race course. If it doesnt conflict with Poolesville RR, I'm there, and would highly recommend it to anyone else who is Cat 4 or upper

Goals:
-Top 5 Cat 3 BAR, with stretch goal to win it. That'll take racing very smart and patient (not my strong suit). Every match has to count.
-Win a road race and a crit (cant specify which ones, too many competitors lurking on BF!)
-Race for other team mate who will prioritize Fitchburg and 'Toona
-Upgrade to Cat 2 by season end
-stay healthy, motivated, and positive
-Mentor other team mates who are newer to racing to help them learn from what they did well and not so well

Last year was a tough year for me due to outside factors that were beyond my control, I'm hoping to come back strong in 2008!
