We just got our tandem in September and the weather has not been co-operating very much, but last Saturday my wife and I rode around Lake Sammamish with folks from the Evergreen Tandem Club (it only rained on us for the last hour.) This is the longest bike ride she has ever done and she was great! This ride was led by Randall and Barb Angell who rode their tandem from Alaska to Florida in 2004.
