So, it’s been brought to my attention lately that this place is like high school, and that I’m one of the popular girls (which means I'm both liked and despised). I find that hysterical (maybe it's the codeine?), but then I realized that there is some truth to it. Even though we are all adults (well…somewhat), this place has seen its share of silly drama and high school-like antics. And on more than one occasion, we’ve been called a clique. So, why not have a thread for all the nasty cattiness our little hearts' desire? If you are going to bring it…bring it here and leave it here!
I’ll start. I’m the captain of the Cheerleading squad (one that’s getting so pudgy that she has muffin top out over her cheering uniform mini skirt, but never you mind). My posse is Happy, Thomson, Scoot, Vancemac and Jpconrad. We often get accompanied by other cool kids – Herb, Speedee, Cassave and Big John, to name a few. I have several crushes on several boys and two girls, and I've had my heart broken (*******!). I have a total of four stalkers and eight “MErider hate-a's.”
I’m so POPULAR, and if you’re nice to me, I might just let you touch my sleeve. :D

I'm Yearbook Editor.
Deadly with Photoshop. Be nice to me or you will have unattractive photos published to commemorate your year here.
EDIT: I was also voted Best Dressed and Most Likely to Become a Crack Addict.

Having your own car wasn't all that popular when I was in High School but I DID have a 1965 red fastback Mustang when a senior. I am impressed with your psychic abilities!!

Dave, I was just thinking about chess this morning. I played quite a bit when I was a child and kind of gave it up. Lately, I have been doing the puzzles in the Sunday Times but I haven't played a game in a long time.

I went to Westchester High in Playa Del Rey. I had “surf class” for PE in the mornings - imagine that! Most of the time we just kept surfing all day.

Funny that this thread made me make a comparison of my typology back in HS and now...
Back then I was very well known, but not "popular." I hung out with the art kids, was great friends with the AP Kids (because I passed all my AP courses by Junior year), was in band, orchestra, and known as the athletic kid who didn't try for the team. Worked either on stage or back stage for the theatre. I spent a good portion of my senior year working at JPL. I was everywhere, and people knew of me, but very few knew me.
Similar style these days :D

By the way, in high school, I was not popular until my senior year. I was in drama, acted in the plays, hung out with the theatre crowd, sang in the choir, smoked, and eventually became a badass that none of the cheerleaders messed with. I skipped my senior year and entered my local university early (I had to make a certain score on the ACT and I did - so see, I may be blonde, but I'm not completely dumb :p). My senior year, I had to take one English class at my high school and then I could head over to Austin Peay for my university classes. I didn't so much as talk to anyone, but my senior class voted me Most Talented in the yearbook in 1988. Since then, I've never received an invitation to a reunion!
I was not athletic at all in high school. I'm so very different now. :p

If you can cook a meal and rotate their tires you've got it made.:D

I agree....while my friends made fun of me , i told them...lets see..its me and 20 girls...now what do you think!!! They changed their tune real fast.....
But the girls didnt like me.... I cooked better than they did!!
Edit: but I did get in trouble for the extra "seasoning" i added to the salad dressing and brownies!!

Sometimes I wonder whether I went to the right school. With all the news/talk shows on the common hot stuff happening in school these days, I'm quite envious. ;)
Although even if I'm in high school now, I'll still be having my head down looking at the chess board thinking about the next move. :p
English and PhysEd were my worse subjects.

i never became popluar. when i tried out for the football team i wanted to play QB, and even though i could throw a football 50+ yards, they put me in the running back group because i was supposedly too small to play QB. i guess i still am, which is still lame. didn't last long there, and my only shot at hishgschool stardom was gone. played tennis throughout, but that didn't make me popular, either.
i still communicate and even hang out with most of my friends from highschool. scary.

No, not scary. You stayed friends. I didn't but that's cause I moved all the way out here. I saw a guy I knew from HS about two years ago (he moved out here briefly but couldn't take it and moved back to the south) and he couldn't believe that I look like I look. He said all the cheerleaders are obese, some married, some divorced (he saw them at the reunion I missed because I didn't get an invite). It made me realize that I was lucky I didn't stay in the south. I'd be 350 lbs for sure, an alcoholic, a smoker and selling Avon. :o

I just saw a picture of a babe I had a crush on in HS and in the three pictures I saw of her now, she was in a moo-moo and must be pushing 350 pounds. What a waste.
I knew everyone, graduated with most of the kids I went to kindergarten with, but was too busy in HS doing drugs and racing my CZ to care much about school.
Wasn't even in my senior year yearbook.
This is about as close as I got.:)
