I was thinking of getting this to take on train/bus rides... It costs around 500eu here.

Any objections? I would like to make a fixed gear bike, but i don't have money to throw out a 16" wheel.

You should be able to sell the Nexus 3-speed hub and shifter for more than it'll cost to build a fixed gear hub. Whether the bike is any good... well, I can't really tell from the web page.
