I do not have a mtn bike - sold it a few years ago to buy my Poprad. Now I want to get back into it. My LBS has a Lahar sort of on sale. It's $799, normally $879. It seems to have a good enough component group that I shouldn't need to replace anything for a while, and since I am a valued customer to them, they said they would give me my choice of stem and pedals for free.
I haven't been into mtn bikes for a while, so I've been feverishly trying to learn about modern specs and so forth. I don't want to do anything hardcore, just some local singletracks here in NC.
So, to anyone in the know, is this a good bike?
