Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Crumpler Seedy Bar v Wine Bar

While looking for a new backpack to replace my rucksack (which can't help but fall off my back with every stroke) and free messenger bag (which is incredibly tinily useless) I came across the Crumpler Seedy Bar and Wine Bar.

They both seem to conform to the back really well and generally stay out of the way/not flop around. However, I'm a smallish guy (5'7" and ~125lb) thus I'm worried the Wine Bar will be too gigantic and move around too much. The Seedy Bar, which is smaller, I would think would fit better.

For those who've owned/seen these, what are your opinions? Do you think they would both fit, as I could use the extra space of the wine bar... Thanks!

i don't have any experience with their backpacks, but i thought i'd tell you i like my crumpler messenger bag i got a while ago. it hasn't seen a ton of use, but the construction is quality, the weatherproofness is good, and overall design is pretty quality.

i don't have either, nor have i seen either... but i like the wine bar and i've been thinking about buying one.

mine just came in the mail yesterday
i like it a lot. two twelve packs of canned beer fit in fine (with room to spare)
it digs into the back of my neck a little but when i'm riding, but i think i've got that sorted out by loosening the shoulder straps
empty, or close to it, i barely feel the straps on my shoulders. weighed down the chest and stomach straps help carry the load nicely
there area ton of focking pockets and they are all really big

i wonder if it might be overkill for everyday use

i'm starting to think i might want a huge backpack. after you've had the luxury of being able to stuff whatever you want in your bag as i've had with my reload deluxe, it's hard to imagine only being able to carry twenty four beers... i mean i regularly carry two thirty racks of stones to a party in my bag.

then pay another $100 and reload back pack that is the size of a kick drum.....

i thought of two other things to say about it on my ride home but now i only remember one: i ordered it on wednesday, got a confirmation email on thursday and was wearing the bag on friday night with the ground shipping. granted it was only coming from NY to phila but it was still pretty quick

To the OP's original question about size, the seedybar looks tiny. (esp since you were complaining about your mess bag being too small.) I think the sternum and waist straps on the wine bar would keep it in place.

Not to beat a dead horse here, but how's the water resistance? I generally carry a laptop, change of clothes, lunch, camera and some tools, almost all of which react poorly to water. I've been rocking a Chrome Ivan (http://www.chromebags.com/products/bags/show/30/) for about a year, and while the comfort level is high and I love the waterproof-ness, I'm not crazy about the odd shape of the bag or the not-awesome external pockets. I was considering the Ortlieb Messenger (http://www.ortliebusa.com/cartgenie/prodInfo.asp?pid=53&cid=2), but wasn't crazy about its apparent lack of pockets, exterior or otherwise. The Crumpler (http://www.crumpler.com.au/Cart/Views/productpagev2/popupImage.php?img=/Cart/Resources/CartResources/287_res/b287_o10540_ai957.jpg&caption=folders) looks like it has the kind of storage I'm looking for, the only question again is how water-resistant is it? Anyone who has one care to elaborate on this point?
