View Full Version : Independant Coasting
I remember reading about this once where both on a tandem could coast independantly. Please help or direct to a link. Thanx in advance.

I asked the same question a short while ago, and the forums members were kind enough to help out:

Un-Synchronized Tandem? - Bike Forums
I came across another type of ICS, which had only one ring for the front, and the back had a 9 speed cassette (so no shifting for the front). It's OK for beginners. We enjoyed it. My stoker isn't a cyclist so it's a good starter bike for us.

As a Divinci owner, I think it is the only way to go if the kids or wife in back are clearly several notches behind your cycling strength and endurance. My kids really enjoy tandeming when they can coast or soft pedal (while dad is busting ass up front!)
