I'm setting up my old trakstand Rx5 trainer with a bike and an older cycle computer so I can hopefully stay in shape while the weather is rotten. Thought using stuff I already have would be the cheap route, versus buying a stationary bike, when I'm not sure how much I'll use it. I moved the computer sensor and magnet to the back wheel, since the front wheel doesn't spin. Also, I swapped in fresh batteries in both the computer and the sensor. Moved the computer around so, while not convenient to me, it is as close to the sensor as it used to be on the front. Still, I don't get a reading. Then got this 'duh!!' thought that perhaps my trainer is magnetic, and it is interfering with the sensor? does anybody know if the Trakstand RX5 is magnetic, and if so, if the trainer's magnets would not be completely shielded, and if so, if this is most likely my problem? and don't laugh, any engineers out there!
