I am interested in purchasing these wheels and would like to know if anyone is using them, my other choice are the Shimano R540's i believe the model number is. I am looking to spend 3-400 dollars. The cosmos are about $310 and the Shimano wheels are $299. I remember from my BMX days that my sealed wheels were way smoother than the loose ball style that the Shimano wheels are. The Mavics are nice for sealed bearings, and the Shimano are very nice looking wheels. I am currently riding on Gippiemme ( I dont know if i spelt that correctly) Tecno 024 wheels that were stock on my 03' Cannondale R600 road bike. Thanks in advance, Also if anyone could suggest a place to purchase them that would be great. I was thinking supergo.com because of the upcoming 10% off coupon. The performanced.com was way better but i cannot seem to get the coupon codes to work.

I've got close to 1000 miles on a new set of Cosmos. They aren't as flashy as some other wheelsets but the get the job done. They have stayes straight and true over some pretty rough roads. I am 6 ft 200 lbs so they have been put the test.

What did you think of the Gipiemme wheels? I was looking at a R800 with Grecal Parade set and decided against it. Ended up going with a R1000 and the Cosmos instead. Only a couple hundred more than the R800 in the end.

they dont bother me at all except for the looks, i am building my girlfriend a bike and instead of buying her new wheels for the bike she will ride probably 2 times, i will buy myself some new ones and use my tecno wheels on hers. The R1000 has the cosmos? I thought it came with the Cosmic Elites.

My husband runs cosmos on his climbing bike and for pulling our daughter in the trailer and they have held up great. Light and durable according to him. We just saw them advertised in excel cat for 139.00 front and 159.00 rear I beleive.

I called them, and while 199.00 is a good pricem they are only available in grey color. i want a black set, he said on the phone they were the older models.

The only trouble I had was after a few thousand miles, when the rear spokes started to stretch and I couldn't get the wheel to stay true and dished. Getting replacement spokes is a PITA, so I went back to using my stock wheels for a while.

I'll still recommend my usual: have a shop build up a nice set of wheels for you, or order a hand built set online. You can get Ultegra or Chorus hubs laced up to Open Pro rims in your price range (I mention both because I don't know for sure what group you're running). It's much easier to work on them and you can get a set custom built, including fancy lacing patterns and nice double butted spokes.

I downgraded the wheels to save a few bucks on the bike. I couldn't see much of a difference between the Ksyirums and the Cosmos. I don't ride fast enough for aero spokes to make a differnece. :)

I have the cosmos on my mule as my wife stated and I also have Ksyriums on my regular road bike. You would be hard pressed to find a stronger wheelset than the ksyriums but the cosmos have done really well pulling a kid in a trailer which should speak for itself. I have about 400 miles on the cosmos. They are fairly new (about 2.5 months).
