General Cycling Discussion - Will being a football kicker interfere with my road racing?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm 6-0, 160 lbs, and have basically no upper body strength. so kicker is basically the only thing I can play.

So a question- will the isometric & plyometric exercises that I will have to do to improve my kicking strength improve my cycling sprint at all? Will I overdevelop my fast-twitch muscle at the cost of my slow-twitch aerobic capacity? If I had to choose between road racing & football, I'd still go with the bike...

Thanks in advance for your input!

The varsity jackets sure are cool though!

Listen, the varsity jackets are not actually cool. In fact, if you decide to not play football, you will probably do better in school, go to a better college, make more money, and score hotter chicks. Work on your look, maybe grow a mustache. I bet a mustache makes you look cooler than a varsity jacket.
