Yesterday was my first ride in 3 days and I was really itching to get back in the saddle. It was a perfect New England early autumn afternoon. I picked a nice rural route through old farm country and I was ready to attack. And boy did I ever! I was out of the saddle on every climb and spinning on every downhill. It was a ride I've done before but never felt so tired (yet satisfied) after. I managed to average over 18 mph (a rare feat for me in this hilly area). Now I'm sitting at work wishing I was riding again!

Oh, and a soccer mom in a Ford Excrement almost ran me over pulling out of her driveway.:crash: She caught up to me at the next intersection and said, "You better be careful." She didn't say it with an attitude so I just ignored her and muttered to myself, "yeah, you be careful." I just rode off with the satisfaction of knowing that I had the right of way and I would have buried her if we ended up in court. I tried to not let it (or the other 12 tools that almost hit me) ruin the rest of my ride.

Saturday was my first ride since July 18th because of a herniated disc in my neck. God it was great to ride again. I was weak but managed to ride 45 miles with the gang. My butt hurt more than anythingand I really felt it on the hills.
At this point I am just glad that I can ride, but soon I will work on getting stronger. I can't wait to ride again,

live, good to hear, I hope to have a good ride here in a few minutes. You're much better with jergoff drivers than am I; I would have told her off. And thinking that you'll get them in court is great, unless you're a vegetable after getting hit and the millions you get in a settlement are just enough to take care of your medical expenses. Ignorant drivers need to be reminded that we are road users, not targets.

And with the way people act these days, you don't want to upset someone with a 1500 to 2000 pound weapon!
