Knowing that I had only marginally prepared for a century, I figured I'd do the 84 mile option, and "See how it went".

I had thigh burn by mile 2 riding into that d*mn wind. Even got blown off the road onto the gravel by a sudden cross wind.

Knowing that I had a four hour drive ahead of me when I was done, I turned at the 25 mile stop. 50 miles with all that headwind was certainly a good workout.

It was a very scenic route, and it was an absolute blast riding back. Don't think I'll bother driving all that way for it again though.

Your pictures are gorgeous. I started the thread with the intention on going, but I don't think I'm strong enough of a rider to deal with those headwinds. Congrats on finishing. Thanks for the beautiful pictures.
