Classic & Vintage - source(s) for 126 mm rear hub ?

Thanks for the feedback on D-A 6 speed freewheel vs. cassette. My inclination is to go with a freewheel rather than cassette.

So the next step in this thought-experiment is to get the parts for my new rear wheel. It seems the rims are a no-brainer, most folks like the mavic open pro's. But I am having a hard time finding new, gently-used, or NOS rear hubs. There are a few on ebay but not many.

Any ideas or suggestions on where else to look for a good quality 126mm hub that will accept a freewheel? It does not have to be dura-ace necessarily, although I wouldn't mind. To be extra picky I would prefer 28 or 32 holes (I only weigh 150 so I think I can get away with 28).

And ditto for the freewheel...not many on ebay either! I know nashbar has a twist-tooth sis-compatible freewheel but I want a 13-21 not their 14-24 or 14-28. Suggestions?

It seems this stuff shouldn't be too hard to find. I've got a collection of freewheels that I found mostly at bike shops specializing in used equipment. Found a bunch of stuff on eBay, too.

Try Craigslist - put an WTB ad indicating what you want and see what kind of response you get.

Freewheels - try Harris Cyclery.

Thanks...I also see this hub at Harris, seems reasonable...is it?? The only bummer is it's 36H.

They have a regular bike shop.... but downstairs they make custom frames along with stock sizes..... and good ones. Ask to look at one of their Corsa 700 steel frames..... they ride like an old 531 frame.... I'm on my second one in the past years (My original was a bit big for me, but I got that corrected now)

Actually if you can fit into one of Harry's stock frames, their on sale for 495.00 with fork. But their customs are about the same or less than a Bilenky. Bilenky is more of an artist.....Harry and Dennis know how to make great Track and Road frames.

Yup....they have alot of stuff....almost forgot them. But they generally want a pretty penny for what they have and it is not always in great shape...... but they definitly have the stuff.
