Hello everyone. I'm Casey, a 27 year old musician/journalist from St. Louis.
So last year I had ever intention of going through teacher training to further my yoga practice and then my friend upgraded my crappy bike by giving me a much nicer one. Needless to say, I am now too obsessed with my bike to have time for hours of yoga practice anymore.
This year I plan on doing my first century, which I'm really excited about. I've already made the switch of using my bike as my primary mode of transportation. I discovered that winter really isn't as bad as I always made it out to be after all.
I'm doing this all on my own and as I progress to longer distances, I'm finding I have a lot to learn. Hopefully I'll gain some insight here :).

Well, that's all I got!
Casey

Hi Casey--priorities, you know?

Cycling can complement the yoga practise :) . So, what kind of upgraded bike did your friend give you?

Welcome to BF!

Ok, before I tell you, you have to understand I was riding a cheap Murray stuck in one gear. So, he gave me this Schwinn from the 80s (I don't know much about it). It was one million percent better. Now I have a Takara Medalist, which was a cheap used deal that is a step up from the Schwinn.

I know, I know.. I probably have a long way to go before I can truly swoon over my bike, but hey I'm getting there!

Nice to meet you!

Does your Takara have downtube shifters?

Ah, very cool! I know nothing about the bike (can't find much info about it anywhere) except the guy who sold it to me was definitely stretching the truth about it. I'll get photos of it soon and post!
