BMX - New Guy looking for a bike

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm interested in getting into BMX, I've ridden mountain bikes up till now, but my friend bought a Redline Slant and it looks like fun so I wanted to try it. Only problem is I'm 6 ft tall, and 22 years old, am I too old and tall to ride BMX? And if I'm not, what would be a good bike for me to start on, I've never ridden BMX before, but I could spend up to $800 Canadian for a bike.
either get a fit or a wethepeople.....thats my opinion though.. quite a good bike to start on for that kindof price

Those are good bikes, IF you live in Canada order from www.3ride.com. They have a sweet selection. If you go more expensive you get better parts so WTP and Fit are good.
Thanks for the link, now that I've browsed through the forums I see that alot of guys are over 6 ft and ride BMX so I guess I'm not too tall. Is there anything that I should be looking for in terms of proper fit?
