you guys might know this already, but i found out that when you are pedaling downwards on the crank, concentrate on putting your pressure on your big toe, it makes a difference! HUGE difference actually.

When learning to spin, I would imagine wiping mud off my shoes one ride, pulling up on the next ride, kicking forward on the next ride, rarely would i work on pushing down on the pedal.

It takes a few months of practice before a strong spin becomes natural. Turbonium, are you using clipless? Once you get good at pushing, think about upgrading your pedal system, clipless gives you the ability to power around the whole cycle, not just the 40% were you can push down.

So true, Joe.

I'm lazy- I have the clipless pedals, but I'm too lazy to put the spd's on my shoes. I just ride on the tops of my pedals, but I know if I used my clipless, my speed would probably go up by probably 5 miles per hour or so...

What a minute here, just back the truck up. let me understand this.

You have clipless pedals and the proper shoes. But you don't have the cleats attached to the shoes.

You ride around on clipless pedals with the proper shoes, no cleats, just the shoe on top of the pedal? Is that correct?

sorry to specify, but i was talking about pedal power.
joe, yup i do have clipless, along with wiping the dirt, i found that putting your downwards pressure on your big toe, i am guessing it works because your big toe bone doesn't flex as much as your "finger" toes.
