Shimano R540? I was interested in these for the price and looks and would like some feedback from anyone who sports these wheels. Thanks for the help!

at the shop, we've had quite a few complaints of flexiness. we have a joke that the guy who walks out the store with a road bike equipped with shimano paired-spoke wheels will be back for ksyriums within a month.

You are better off with a pair of Dura Ace hub/Open Pro wheelset. You don't get a lot from a $300+ factory pre-built wheelset.

Yes, everyone I know who has ridden these wheels complains of how fragile they are. They flex a lot, and if you crash them once, that's it. A couple of my friends have trashed these wheels in simple crashes. Even more have broken spokes.

I have ~200 miles on them, they came with my new bike. Much lighter than my cxp-21's on my old bike. Accelerate quicker too. Like the looks, havent noticed the flex mentioned above at all, of course Im only 140lbs so not a heavy weight. They seem to be pretty aero, once up to speed you dont slow too much.
