These weren't the legs I was expecting to see.

I see photos my old house at the very top of Baxter in the linked photos. Does this have anything to do with Fargo St hill climb or is this another ride? So what's happening on the 23rd?

Feel My Legs, I'm a Racer (3rd annual)

10 hills, 10 stages, 1 morning

A race for some, an epic adventure for others.

It is a tour of some of the less-traveled streets in Los Angeles, from downtown to Silver Lake and beyond.

There is no entry fee and limited support. No car support please, spectators welcome on bicycles (you won't have to ride all the hills).

Just riding up any one of these hills is an accomplishment. 10 in one day is seriously hard (Fargo is merely one). Be prepared!

Not according to my singlespeed it's not. I could ride straight up it but on Fargo I had to switchback right away. :eek:

OK that's kind of funny since it was a casual debate in the hood when I lived around those streets which one was steeper.

All I know is I always worried in the back of my mind about the brakes on the car when I drove on either of them...:D

My daughter thinks they're fun. Like a roller coaster. I have some Super 8 footage of someone walking on Baxter that I shot with a telephoto lens. If I was more computer savvy I could post it. I guess I would have to have it transfered to DVD or CD first...

Although I haven't heard of any Victoria's Secret model who also races bikes, for all I know there might be one.

What legs were you expecting, anyway? :)

At least I have an excuse- if my old bones can handle it, then I will run the Surf City Half Marathon tomorrow in the cold, wind and rain. Any of you speedy young racers care to race me, meet by the HB pier tomorrow at 7am.
