Anyone have any familiarity w/ the quality of the cases sold at www.crateworks.com? Several testimonials on the website, but you never hear the negatives there. Interested in any thoughts you may have.

I had a friend that recommended them last year when I was considering which kind of case to pack my bike in. He said they were good quality cases, but you do have to make sure you pad the inside to protect your bike. Plus, they are useable too, and more lightweight than the performance bike luggage too.

I trust the guy- he's good quality people, and he wouldn't necessarily buy or endorse something he didn't think was good quality.

You going on a trip or something? Yeah, I'm nosey... sue me! :D

Koffee,

Thanks for the info. I'm heading from the 'nati to D.C. for the Tour of Hope finale (www.tourofhope.org) on October 18th and then to Austin for the Ride for the Roses (www.laf.org) on October 26th.

Given the chance of getting dinged $80 for each leg on Delta, I was thinking about shipping directly from D.C. to Austin, but I'm not sure I trust 'em. Website seems to indicate that you've got a better chance of not getting dinged w/ these cases than you do w/ many traditional bike cases that say "bicycle" all over them.
