I'm not a fixer, but I ride the saddle. It is well worth it for me, I have it an my century bike annd since I started riding it all day (10 - 12 hour) double centuries are no problem on the bottom.

Yes, the Swift is well worth the money. I've got one on my Steamroller and it's been very comfortable since day 1. You get a can of poofide and a saddle wrench included in the price.

I know, but I'm way too old to ride without the help from the gears and I live in new england in an area with many hills. My name is MRFIX because I fix things for a living. I read the fix gear threads because I like the concept, and who knows, someday I may even build one up for myself. But I must say, ya gotta get a brooks, and the swift is a sweetie.

does the leather need to be kept dry?

ie - would a brooks be a really bad idea in seattle?

my fear is a $150 saddle being stolen off of my bike by a saddle-conscious thief.. wouldn't that suck?

mc If that's the case, I wouldn't even waste my money on the Swift if there's that possibility. I never leave sight of my bike with pricey components. On the other hand, my errand/utility fixie sport 'cheaper' components which I don't mind locking up unchecked for a few minutes from time to time...

if a buck and 1/2 scares you, the Team Pro can be had for about 1/2 of that, and the b17 for even less. Both are great saddles, every bit as good as the swift; just slightly heavier.

Correct........as a matter of fact, I feel that my Team Pro is a bit more comfortable than my Swift. But that may be due to my trimming of the side skirts on the Team Pro to give it that sleeker look.

I picked up a Like New Black Swift LBS. It has been profidded but has no signs of anyones butt and is gorgeous. I just can't put such a nice and $150 seat on my bike. I'll let it go for $110.

I know this isn't the classifieds but, since your talking about them........
